DESCRIPTION:The improvising trio of Andrew Lisle [drums]\, John Edwards [double bass]\, and Kit Downes [piano] present a live album recording for their second release as a trio. Their debut record ‘Multi-directional’ was released on Raw Tonk Records in 2021 to critical acclaim. Expect high energy Free Jazz from three of the most highly regarded musicians on the UK and European improvised music scene. \n \nAndrew Lisle – Born and raised in Northumberland – now based in London. His quick and highly textural playing filled with rhythmic complexity makes him a highly in-demand member of the fertile jazz & improvised music community. In turns both propulsive and abstract\, Lisle has works with many leading voices on the UK and European improvised music scene\, including Kit Downes\, John Edwards\, Alex Ward\, Charlotte Keeffe\, Ab Baars\, Rodrigo Amado and John Dikeman\, Colin Webster\, Dirk Serries.\n \nJohn Edwards is a true virtuoso whose staggering range of techniques and boundless musical imagination have redefined the possibility of the double bass and dramatically expanded its role\, whether playing solo or with others. 
Perpetually in demand\, he has played with Evan Parker\, Roscoe Mitchell\, Sunny Murray\, Derek Bailey\, Joe McPhee\, Lol Coxhill\, Louis Moholo\, Peter Brötzmann\, Mulatu Astatke\, Jonny Greenwood and countless others.\n \n\nKit Downes is a British BBC Jazz Award winning\, Mercury Music Award nominated\, solo recording artist for ECM Records. He has toured the world playing piano\, church organ and harmonium with his own bands (‘ENEMY’\, ‘Troyka’\, ‘Elt’ and ‘Vyamanikal’) as well as artists such as Squarepusher\, Thomas Strønen and Django Bates. He has written commissions for Cheltenham Music Festival\, London Contemporary Orchestra\, Stavanger Konserthus\, Rewire Festival\, Cologne Philharmonie\, BBC Radio 3 and the Wellcome Trust\, as well as collaborating with film-makers\, video game developers and classical composers.

Dreamlike distorted vocals\, dark synthwave glitch.  \n\nLia Mice (Belfast)\nBoomkat describes Lia Mice’s music as a “collision of robotic electro\, demonic hyperpop\, tweaky IDM and slushy Radiophonic weirdness”. An accomplished self-producing artist with releases on Optimo Music and Objects Ltd\, Lia has recently moved to Belfast and is returning to London for this show with a new live set of glitchy vocals\, digital textures and wonky beats played with Soft Cymatics\, her massive handmade touch-performed synth made from upcycled velvet offcuts.\nwww.liamice.com \n\nA’Bear (London)\nA’Bear is a multi continental psychedelic electronic musician\, composer and DJ making riffy cosmic polyrhythms weaved between melodic dreamy layered loops\, warped bass lines and distorted vocals.  Her compositions and live shows are a blend of gnarly\, mediative\, motorik mayhem- described by Resident Advisor as ” wonderfully unhinged.”
